1950s pinup-style illustration of a woman in a black bathing suit riding backwards on a huge black cat with three red eyes. Image is cropped so she is shown from the waist down. The background is a deep rust red. Pale white squares are staggered across the image with month days and numbers. Some numbers are replaced with names and there's an 8-pointed star behind them to indicate an event: yellow for a human or cat birthday; red for the adoption of a cat; gray for the death of a cat.

2022 calendar — Three-eyed cat plus alternates

I make these wall calendars every year with one big image in the background or twelve themed images in alternating squares.

I note the birthdays of friends and relatives (and cats) with their name on the date plus a bright gold star behind it. (To protect privacy I’ve changed them all to “Name” here, but you get the idea.)

1950s pinup-style illustration of a woman in a black bathing suit riding backwards on a huge black cat with three red eyes. The woman is facing away from the viewer but looking back over her shoulder. The background is a deep rust red and the word "Meow!" appears in a big pale yellow script typeface below the cat. Pale white squares are staggered across the image with month days and numbers. Some numbers are replaced with names and there's an 8-pointed star behind them to indicate an event: yellow for a human or cat birthday; red for the adoption of a cat; gray for the death of a cat.
This is the design I ended up using, partly because I wanted to see what would happen in May, June and July when the cat’s three eyes were visible. To my disappointment (mixed with relief) nothing out of the ordinary came to pass. Image is from Shutterstock stock image company. Typefaces are Gilbert Bold from Adobe Fonts (months) and Proxima Nova from Mark Simonson Studio via Adobe Fonts (days and names).

Japanese-style pen and ink illustration, with color fills, of a tattooed white cat and a large beetle, with yellow flowers surrounding them. Pale white squares are staggered across the image with month days and numbers. Some numbers are replaced with names and there's an 8-pointed star behind them to indicate an event: yellow for a human or cat birthday; red for the adoption of a cat; gray for the death of a cat.
The artist “Monmon” creates (among other things) sometimes powerful, sometimes whimsical illustrations of tattooed creatures, especially cats. You can buy his work here. I bought this image as a print but it’s ©Monmon. Anime-style illustration of a tiger-striped Maneki Neko, or "Good Luck/Prosperity Cat," with its left paw raised in greeting/blessing. These are often displayed in businesses. Pale white squares are staggered across the image with month days and numbers. Some numbers are replaced with names and there's an 8-pointed star behind them to indicate an event: yellow for a human or cat birthday; red for the adoption of a cat; gray for the death of a cat.
This is a Maneki-neko, or Lucky Cat, with its paw raised in a beckoning gesture. These are often displayed in businesses to invite in customers and money.
