“Cthulhu Snowflake” holiday card

“Darkness looms in America — can Cthulhu save us? / Wishing you and yours strength, love, and protection for the year ahead. / And remember: Until the Elder Gods return, we are each others’ secret weapon.”

This is a holiday card from 2016 (I’ve reworked the design a bit to make it more dramatic). As we know, the 2016 election heralded an era of darkness in this country. Realizing this, my message here was for us to take care of each other, employing the powers of Cthulhu if necessary.

I rotated the Cthulhu shape, in green on the first image, 60º around the bottom point, 5 more times, to create a six-pointed snowflake. I made the snowflakes themselves (below) out of silver glitter paper, which I cut on a laser cutter. I folded up each snowflake to make the green Cthulhu shape on the insert, and included one in the envelopes for each recipient to unfold.
