Good Cards Gone Bad

The Client

Good Cards Gone Bad: Twisted Cards for Twisted People (click here for a closer view) is the project of photographer Kaos Beauty Klinik. He creates tantalizing, twisted images of intricate tattoos, mysterious women, and ghostly landscapes. The elegant, eclectic images are printed on high quality photographic stock, then attached with photo corners to deckle-edged cards.

The Challenge

Good Cards Gone Bad needed a responsive e-commerce WordPress website that would allow the photographer to sell his handcrafted cards on all platforms. He wanted a site that was elegant and sensuous, and allowed for both his nature and portrait work. In addition, he wanted to incorporate a blog as part of his marketing plan. The site is no longer active, unfortunately, but I have some images from the photoshoot below.

The Solution

I customized a WordPress theme to add e-commerce capability and special type styling. Working with the photographer, I wrote the text on the site, highlighting the portraiture and eerie landscapes. I also sourced and managed a developer to add some specific elements of code.

The Impact

Sales for this new venture totaled more than 200 cards for the first six months of business.

Center: matter-of-fact woman in lingerie on hotel bed, part of her body and face reflected in a mirror. Cool-toned bedspread with warm-toned skin. Right: woman lying on her back on a dresser in the corner of a room. She's lying on her back with her legs up the wall. Blue and green tones with pale skin.
